Enjoy the beauty of nature at Orca Haven, with blue herons and bald eagles flying overhead, orca whales dancing in the Puget Sound, stunning mountain and water views, and breathtaking sunsets. Relax and soak it all up outside on the oversized deck or inside looking out through extra-large picture windows of this cozy home away from home.
Built in 1922 as a grocery store to serve the Richmond Beach neighborhood, this property is one of the few remaining buildings from that time and the only registered historic property in the neighborhood.
Within easy walking distance, you'll find beaches, parks, playgrounds, tennis courts, corner stores, coffee shops, and restaurants. A short walk will take you to Richmond Beach Saltwater Park, a local hidden gem. By car, you can easily access hiking, sailing, climbing, and more in the northwest. In winter, three ski resorts are less than 3 hours away. If you prefer not to drive, the bus stop is less than a block away.
Orca Haven is surrounded by orcas, known to some Indigenous communities as the guardians of the sea. They symbolize luck, compassion, and family bonds. Inspired by the resident Salish Sea orcas, the Richmond Beach Community Association commissioned 22 artists to create orca whale sculptures for outdoor display. You can find a pod of 3 whales directly across the street from this unit.
