  • Designed by and named for a noted architect who once worked with Frank Lloyd Wright, this warm mid-century home evokes all the feelings of old Carmel but has all the modern conveniences one would expect from any well-equipped vacation home today. Built in the early 1940's the Robert R. Jones House is an example of the modernist style that influenced so much of his work. The home is still owned and cared for by the family of Mr. Jones who are artists in their own right - well-lit paintings and photographs adorn the home's walls adding to its unique character.

  • Located on the north side of Carmel, bordering Pescadero Canyon, guests will feel like they are just out of the fray and bustling traffic of downtown, but will be within just a few minutes from downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea, not to mention a short drive to any Monterey Peninsula location like the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Cannery Row, numerous golfing options and a bevvy of hiking trails and parks from which to choose.

  • Guests will be delighted by the lush, well-cared for front garden which is an object of pride and joy of the homeowners. Upon entering the gate from the driveway, visitors pass through this feast for the eyes which is also on full display from inside the home. Floor to ceiling windows in the living room are perfectly positioned to bring the outdoors in.

Living Spaces

  • The 1,278 sf single-level home has a simple, pleasant layout. The carpeted living room has a corner sofa and comfortable barrel chairs in a grouping perfect for conversations, games and relaxing; the flat screen Smart TV is here as well as a decorative, candle-lit fireplace. Nearby, a small desk and office chair are situated directly in front of a large bank of windows - if you aren't careful, you may get distracted by the beautiful garden view. A dining table and credenza are on the other side of the living space closer to the kitchen.

Kitchen

  • Don't be concerned for an instant that a mid-century kitchen like this one might not have all the bells and whistles you are accustomed to. All the basics including a dishwasher are present, and an abundance of light washes over the large counter-tops, making it a particularly cheerful place to prepare meals. The fully-equipped kitchen has smaller appliances like the ever essential drip coffee maker and even a Keurig single cup option. The laundry center is conveniently located in the kitchen as well.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

  • Bedroom #1 has a queen bed and an en suite bathroom with a shower over tub.
  • Bedroom #2 has a queen bed.
  • The hallway bathroom has a shower over tub.

Outdoors

  • The back patio has a table and chairs for outdoor dining and overlooks a verdant landscape. The lot backs up to Pescadero Canyon and though there are neighbors on each side, there are no homes directly behind, making this a quiet, peaceful space.

  • Off street parking for one vehicle is available in the driveway; another car may park in front of the home next to the street. The garage is not available for guest use.

  • The home does not typically welcome pets at this time but if you have a particularly well-behaved small dog, ask our Reservations Agents about the possibility of bringing your buddy along.

  • This vacation home is professionally managed by Property Manager. With over 15 years of property management experience, we strive to provide environments that nurture and inspire with all the comforts of home.
