So much more than an apartment, this downtown residence sleeps up to four guests. This upper-floor flat that looks out over the treetops in Carmel-by-the-Sea is ideally situated just steps from fine dining, art galleries and shopping in the downtown area, with nearby theater and music venues within walking distance.

The 800-square-foot residence is right in the heart of Carmel, making it easy to park your car nearby and go on foot to many different attractions. Set within a quintessential Carmel-by-the-Sea courtyard, the apartment is just steps away from the acclaimed Village Gem restaurant and many others that are within a few blocks.

By car, it’s just a few minutes to the beach, or 10 minutes to the world-class golf courses and restaurants of Pebble Beach®, to Monarch butterfly sightings in Pacific Grove, or to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row. Other attractions within a half hour’s drive are the natural wonders of Big Sur and wine tasting and dining in Carmel Valley Village.

Living Space with Sleeping Option:

  • The 1+ bedroom, 1-bath apartment with upscale Asian and minimalist modern décor offers large west-facing windows that let in plenty of natural light. Original artwork and eclectic furnishings complete the ambiance.
  • A sitting area in the living room features a sofa, accent tables and a flat screen TV.
  • The elevated open-concept living area also features a king-sized bed with side tables and lamps. From the bed, enjoy views of either the downtown lights of Carmel or the 60-inch HDTV in the common living room space.

Kitchen and Dining:

  • The kitchen features a double sink, newer appliances, white cabinetry and a marble-topped kitchen island. Please note, kitchen does not have a dishwasher.
  • An adjacent dining area offers seating for four around a glass-topped table, with beautiful views through the upper-story windows.

Bedroom and Bathroom:

  • The bedroom features a queen bed, original artwork and a 42-inch HDTV.
  • The bathroom offers a tub/shower combo, a large mirror and tiled vanity counter top. The unique layout of the bathroom allows guests to walk through a portion of the bathroom into the bedroom from the living area while keeping the water closet and tub/shower separate.
  • The second sleeping space is in the living area as described above.

Downtown parking can be a challenge. A few off-street parking spaces are available on a first come, first served basis. Time restricted parking is available on the street in front of the flat and a few blocks away there is unrestricted street parking. The City of Carmel also has several downtown parking lots with unlimited timing, including one near the flat on Torres and 3rd.
Note: Across the street and down the block there is an ongoing construction project.

The flat does not have a washer and dryer but Sanctuary can suggest local places where Guests can do their laundry if needed.

Dog accepted with homeowner approval; size and breed restrictions plus pet fee and signed pet addendum are required.
