Wanderlust Woods is located in Cocke County, Tennessee, near the towns of Cosby and Hartford, 10 minutes from the Interstate, and situated very near the boundary of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The natural beauty of the area is unparalleled, with views of the Smokies at almost every turn.

Hiking, fishing, white water rafting, and ziplining are all within a 10-mile radius of the property. Gatlinburg, TN, is a 25-minute drive, and Asheville, NC, is just over an hour, offering guests options for fun day trips in the area.

You’re welcome to explore our 10 acres of property, including 900 ft of creek frontage, a hiking trail to the ridge, and mountain views. We ask that you do not enter any other of our glamping spots. No one else has access to your dome or your private bathhouse.

Accommodations

This open-concept Geodome sleeps 6 with:

• 1 queen bed
• A twin-over-full bunk with twin underneath
• Sleeper chair

Bedding and fluffy comforters are provided for all. Mattresses are high-quality memory foam, except for the sleeper chair & futon, which include a memory foam topper for added comfort.

Kitchenette

Kitchenette includes:

• Small fridge & freezer
• Electric cooktop with pots and pan
• Toaster oven
• Microwave
• Coffee maker with coffee & fixings
• Gas grill with BBQ tools
• Coffee cups, wine glasses, and drinking cups
• Disposable plates, bowls, and cutlery

Your private bathhouse is steps away with:

• Flushing toilet
• Vanity sink
• Hot shower with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash

Dish soap and a sponge are provided for washing dishes.

Outside, you'll enjoy a fire pit area with seating for 6, plus a picnic table sheltered from the weather by a rain sail.

You’ll soon forget that you’re supposed to be “roughing it.” Take a seat around your private firepit or at the picnic table while you wait for dinner to finish on the gas grill and enjoy the view of the creek—you may see a family of bears or flock of wild turkeys!

Minutes from rafting & kayaking on the Pigeon River or hiking in the National Park, and 25 min to Gatlinburg. Nearby mountain towns of Cosby & Newport offer groceries, restaurants, and unique shops for the perfect souvenir.

Directions

Our address is 910 Windy Hill Way, Cosby, TN 37722, but we have found GPS sometimes falls short as you get close. There are many possible routes to get to Wanderlust Woods, some of which are one-lane roads that we do not recommend.

If coming from I-40:

1. Take exit 435 onto TN-32 S.
2. In 5.5 miles, turn right onto US-321 S and then left to stay on 321 S.
3. Continue straight for almost 10 miles, when you will turn left on Trail Hollow Road. There is a sign for Chestnut Baptist Church on this corner.
4. Follow Trail Hollow Road for about 1 mile and turn left onto Phillips Road. Be mindful that Trail Hollow Road makes a sharp, 90-degree left turn about halfway to Phillips Road.
5. Once you turn onto Phillips Road, you will pass a house on your right.
6. Take the first right onto Windy Hill Way. This is our road.
7. You will pass two neighbors' driveways on the left and go all the way to the end, where you will see our large wooden sign. Wanderlust Woods is just over the bridge.

You will also want to take a look at the Guide with your check-in instructions for how to access your glamping spot (after filling out the pre-arrival form).

We don’t have great cell reception at the property, so make sure you screenshot the directions and check-in instructions ahead of time or log into our Wi-Fi when you get to the bridge. You can set up Wi-Fi calling on your phones in order to stay in touch with family and friends while you’re glamping.

Water and Supplies

Running water is provided in your private bathhouse next door to the dome. This is where you'll wash dishes and access water for coffee, cooking, and drinking. You'll find a large pitcher of cold water waiting for you in the fridge when you arrive.

We provide coffee, creamer, sugar, snacks, plus all the bedding, towels, soap, TP, etc that you’ll need for your stay.

Road Conditions

We will offer directions that avoid the worst roads, but you will encounter gravel and a few ruts coming into the property. Any vehicle can make it fine when taking it slow, but a larger vehicle with higher clearance is preferred. Only in winter, when there is snow and ice, is 4WD recommended.

Nearby Attractions

The Cosby entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park is 3 mi in one direction. Rafting on the Pigeon River is 3 mi in another direction, and we can show you some beautiful fishing spots for bass & trout less than 3 miles from our place.

Pre-Arrival Process

The following does NOT apply to reservations made on Airbnb (who has their own vetting & resolution process).

For all other booking platforms, guests are required to complete our pre-arrival process, including:

• A photo of a valid ID
• Signing our rental conditions
• Submitting a valid credit or debit card to be pre-approved for a security deposit

The card will not be charged; it is just authorized in case of damage or rule violation. This process needs to be completed before check-in.
