This 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 1936 detached home (not a condo) was built by an Italian fishing family that worked in the bustling tuna fishing industry from the 1930’s to the 1970’s. My wife Sara and I purchased it in 2006 and remodeled it bringing in some new features and blending them with charming period characteristics. We named her "Doma Napoli". The combination of the old world charm of this home coupled with the award-winning Little Italy hip and historic neighborhood make this the perfect place to stay and play.

But that’s not all. You are a five minute walk to the San Diego Trolley Station which can take you to Old Town, Petco Park where the Padres play baseball, Qualcomm Stadium where the Chargers play football, San Diego State University, the Convention Center, the world famous Gaslamp District and the Fashion and Mission Valley shopping malls for world class shopping. All are no more than a 10 minute ride on the clean, comfortable trolley.

By car you are only 5 minutes from Balboa Park and the World Famous San Diego Zoo, 10 minutes to Sea World, home to Shamu, 15 minutes to Pacific Beach and Coronado and the famous Hotel Del Coronado, 25 minutes to the Wild Animal Park, 30 minutes to Legoland and 1 hour to Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm and the Honda Arena where the Ducks play hockey.

As in all Italian homes, the kitchen was and is the focal point. Doma Napoli’s kitchen is no exception. The large kitchen has a center island for storage of silverware, pots and pans and a butcher block top for dicing and slicing. The appliances are all first class. This home has a Fisher Paykel double drawer dishwasher, a huge Jennair refrigerator, a commercial sink as well as the original 1936 sink and a one of a kind Bertazzoni range and oven with convection capability. All the appliances are stainless steel. We also installed a blackboard so you and the family can make lists, post guest greetings or create the day’s menu.

The large dining room, just off the kitchen, has a beautiful, expandable table with 2 leafs, that can seat 10-12 comfortably for large dinners. Through the dining room is the warm and inviting living room with two leather couchs, flat screen TV, DVD and CD player and a nice supply of movies for your entertainment.
