Self check-in and check-out are available. There is a lockbox with keys at the entry door to the building. We will send you the code to the lock box on the day of your arrival.
The check-in window is 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm. If you are planning to arrive after 11:00 pm, you must clear this with us. No one will be available to support you during check-in if you arrive very late at night (after 11:00 pm) and we will not give refunds if you have issues checking in after 11 pm. The house does not have luggage storage.
Please note, the fireplace in the living room is decorative only and non-operational. Guests should not attempt to use the fireplace.
This is an older house that shows some signs of wear and tear. Some recent guests have arrived with higher expectations than what we can provide given the age of the house and layout of the house. The house looks like the photos in the listing and we keep it functional and clean. It is a basic house with basic amenities. If you are looking for a functional and competitively priced place relatively close to New York City and Newark Airport (EWR), this would be a good house for you. If you are looking for a modern and luxury stay, this is probably not the place for you.
We also just want to make clear that you are renting a private house and not a hotel room. There are many differences between house rentals and hotels, and some newer guests may not realize it. Hotels are large and often have many rooms, and the ability to change your room should issues arise. Hotels also have staff 24/7 that can help you with every issue or questions that you may have. On the other hand, we are a small operation and manage our listings to the best of our ability. We try hard to create a good experience for guests. We are including this disclaimer here because we have recently seen a rise in guests that seem to view our listing as very similar to a hotel, but in reality it is quite different.
