  • Welcome to Bovina Post! This historic home, built prior to 1864, was a parsonage for the former Bovina Methodist Church in 1876. In 1929 the side annex, now a bedroom, became a post office for the town of Bovina Center. It remained a post office into the 1950's but is still fondly remembered by locals.

  • Set in the heart of Bovina Center, this 3 bedroom 2 bathroom home has been lovingly renovated and appointed to showcase its timelessness and to pay homage to the generations that lived there before.

  • The Layout
Enter through the enclosed side porch, hang your hat and take off your boots. Lively armchairs wait for the moments of quiet reading, or an evening glass of wine. A small wine chiller serves as an end table. In the warmer months plants enjoy the morning sunshine and herbs on the windowsill scent the air.

The kitchen is located just off the side porch. Long and narrow, with a wall of original built in cabinets on one side and all new appliances and cabinetry on the other. A small island breaks the space and a vintage work table has been repurposed as a dining table. Large windows - repurposed French doors - showcase the outdoors.

Furnished by a family that enjoys entertaining and cooking, guests will find everything they need for meals. Rice cooker and sushi making kit, waffle maker, steamer basket, blender, tea kettle, coffee grinder and multiple ways to make your morning brew. Espresso maker with milk frother? Got it. Nespresso, yep. Drip maker with timer, of course! Sorry, no microwave. But there is a popcorn maker with serving set!

  • The dining room is a cozy place for more formal meals. The table expands to give groups of 8 more space. A chic sideboard holds the barware. The stylish vintage teak ice bucket scored on Etsy complements the new Pottery Barn bar set. Set the mood with proper glassware - Martini, Highball, Wine, Champagne, Margarita, Pilsner, and of course shot glasses. We believe meals, and libations, should be a celebration, and hope you do too. A console next to the dining table features a Audio-Technica turn table and PreSonus Eris 3.5 Studio Monitors. Enjoy our (growing) vinyl collection or bring your favs from home. A PreSonus Eris Sub 8BT Subwoofer makes the system bluetooth friendly or you can connect your phone or computer with an Aux cable.

  • Washing clothes was much different when then house was built. Where to put a laundry room? A mirrored coat closet in the dining room serves as the perfect compact space for a brand new laundry center.

  • The living room has plush carpeting - white, crazy right? That's why we request no shoes in the house. A slipcovered sofa is lounge ready, spacious and cushy. Stream movies from the 42" Samsung smart TV or play video games on the Xbox Series S with 4 controllers on a charging station.

  • Just off the living room is a small den, ideal for quiet time but best enjoyed for GAMES! Magnetic wall games - Chess, Solitaire, Tic Tac Toe, Backgammon and "Scrabble". Enjoy the coziest velvet Matrix Grass Green armchairs by Article while you're playing.

  • The ground level also has a full bathroom with walk in tiled shower.

  • The final room on the ground level, the former posts office, is now a bedroom with a queen size bed, closet and dresser. Soft white walls and a vintage moon globe pendant light with dimmer will soothe you to sleep while the accent wall with vibrant wallpaper puts you in a swanky mood. Note, this bedroom has a step down!

  • The second story features another full bathroom, an open hallway office, 2 bedrooms (with bonus room) and a sleeping porch.

  • The bathroom has amazing Jade Green tile and tub from 50's. Sadly the toilet and sink didn't make it through the renovation. Two windows - original, they don't open - look out onto the sleeping porch. Curtains are installed for your comfort and privacy.

  • Down the hall, a large desk provides ample space to work and also doubles as a dressing table. A built in closet has a large collection of board games and books.

  • The "pink" bedroom is on the left and has a full size bed, and closet with shelving. Hot pink, orange and yellow animal wallpaper behind the bed set the tone. Installed in the 70's, only 1 wall made it. There's also a small strip of wallpaper behind the door - hot pink and white stripes!

  • A bonus space in the room is a converted walk in closet that now has a full size mattress. Fairy lights line the walls and ceiling creating a magical place for your little ones to sleep. A bluetooth projector allows them to stream movies from their device to the wall. Note, the sleepover space door does not lock for safety.

  • On the other side of the hallway is the large "brown" bedroom. With plush king sized bed, nightstands, dresser and walk in closet this room is a dream.

  • At the top of the stairs is a real treat, a sleeping porch! The screened in porch overlooks the back yard and hayfield beyond. A full size daybed sits at one end. Read a book, play games or take a nap on a rainy day. This intimate space will be one of your favorites places in the house.

  • The Outside
The property is on both sides of the road. A parking space with room for up to 3 or 4 vehicles is across the street from the house. There is a short flight of stairs to get to the house and the entry is on the right through the side porch. The house also has a spacious front porch with seating and bar cart.

A large deck at the back of the house has a BBQ, seating and dining table. There is a small slope to the top of the yard where a large flat space gives ample room for lawn games. There is badminton to play or bring your favorite outdoor games from home. At the far back of the property is a fire pit with seating. Watch the stars at night while staying warm by the fire!

  • Being in the village, the house has neighbors on each side so please adhere to the quiet hours of 9PM to 8AM by keeping noise to a minimum. The property lines are clearly marked. Note that the field in the back is not part of the property and guests should not go on it.

Delaware County is a rural, mountainous area. October through April when snow and ice are likely, guests should have either winter tires or all season tires with adequate tread. AWD, FWD or 4WD vehicles are recommended. 2WD and RWD vehicles are generally not good vehicles for driving in snow or rain. Check the weather before arrival and plan your trip accordingly. If you are unfamiliar with driving in snow look for tips online at sources like AAA. The driveway is plowed, maintained and shoveled to the door. A shovel is provided for you so you can maintain a safe walkway during your stay.
