"Oh Deer" at Chipman Inn

Welcome to our family-oriented inn, a haven of warmth and authenticity tucked in the Green Mountains. Our innkeepers are always happy to share local stories and help you make the most of your stay in our quaint Vermont town.

Oh Deer is a cozy, ground-floor room located in the inn’s newer wing—part of a 1930s barn addition to our 200-year-old home. While it’s our smallest room, it offers a comfortable queen bed and a surprisingly spacious ensuite bathroom with a shower/tub combo and safety grab bars.

Just outside the room, guests have access to a shared lounge with a leather sofa, Roku-equipped TV, and a mini fridge. This area is ideal for relaxing with a book, sharing a cup of tea, or streaming content with our high-speed internet (please use headphones for sensitive material to keep things peaceful for all guests).

The main entrance to the inn includes a few steps, but if you're traveling with a companion and also book the adjacent Bread Slice Room, you’ll have access to a private, step-free back entrance that opens to the yard.

This room is situated beneath the loft where the innkeeper’s family lives, offering a glimpse into the rhythms of rural Vermont life.

A hearty New England breakfast is served every morning, made by the innkeeper. To join us for breakfast, simply make a reservation by 7 p.m. the evening before.
