Climb the ladder to a lofted bedroom with a plush mattress and tranquil treetop views.
Three large sliding glass doors open fully to the sights and sounds of nature—no curtains or blinds, just forest light, fresh air, and a deep sense of calm. The home sits set back from a quiet country road and surrounded by trees, offering privacy and a feeling of openness that changes with the seasons.
Please note: ‘Lil Rita uses natural well water, which can have a light sulfur smell at times—completely safe and common in the area. Guests are encouraged to bring their own drinking and cooking water. A starter supply of essentials (like toilet paper and cleaning products) is provided for your stay; if you run out, you’re welcome to restock as needed.

You’ll feel wonderfully off-grid, yet you’re just a short drive to charming Catskills villages, hiking trails, swimming holes, and seasonal events. Winter weather can be mercurial. Check the weather report for this area and plan your travel accordingly. 4WD or AWD vehicles are necessary between October through April when snow, ice and mud are likely. Snow plows do not operate on secondary roads between 8PM and 5AM so in the winter plan your travel accordingly. If you are unfamiliar with driving in the snow, particularly uphill, search online for tips. Sites like AAA have good information. The driveway is plowed and shoveled to the entrance. The driveway is plowed every several inches of fallen snow but if it is snowing, there may still be snow on the driveway. A shovel is provided, please keep the walkway maintained during your stay.
A Few Things to Know Before You Arrive
We’re so happy you’re considering a stay at ‘Lil Rita! To make your visit smooth and relaxing, here are a few important details:
Water & Septic
This is a tiny home with a small septic system, so please be mindful of water use (showers, dishes, etc.). The water comes from a natural well — it’s safe for bathing but may have a mild sulfur smell, which is normal for the area.
We recommend bringing your own drinking and cooking water.
Kitchen & Supplies
The kitchen includes a mini fridge with a small freezer compartment, but there is no microwave. We provide a starter set of essentials like toilet paper and cleaning supplies. If you run out during longer stays, you can easily restock as needed.
Bathroom & Layout
The wet-room style bathroom means the shower and toilet share the same compact space — an efficient setup typical of tiny homes.
The home features large glass doors and windows without curtains or blinds, offering an open, immersive nature experience. It’s set back from a quiet country road and surrounded by trees, though the road is more visible in fall and winter.
Loft Sleeping Area
The cozy loft bedroom is accessed by a ladder. Guests should feel comfortable climbing and descending safely.
Outdoor Shower (May–Sept)
Enjoy a refreshing rinse under the open sky! The outdoor shower is partially visible from the road, so wearing a bathing suit is recommended for comfort.

There is no cell service in the area. Please enable WiFi Calling before arrival to stay connected.
WiFi is satellite-based (~25 Mbps) — great for messaging and light browsing, but not ideal for streaming or gaming.
