- We are laid back, fun-loving people. We rent to other laid-back, fun-loving people. If you are uptight, grumpy or looking for reasons to complain we are not the place for you. If you love nature, want to experience farm life, understand that while we try to make everything perfect things can still happen and that's okay with you then book our place and have a fun time at the farm! We are serious about this-it's a family farm that we rent out when we are not here but we are not hoteliers and if and when things happen (which they will, dishwashers break, blinds get damaged at times from kids/pups, etc) we respond as quickly as reasonably possible. We do not welcome guests that expect a hotel-style experience and we do everything we can to make it awesome but at times things do happen...if that's not okay with you there are many nearby hotels that may work better...we just want to keep it real.
- A-frame farmhouse with tons of space to play and upgraded interiors. Convenient to Chateau Elan, Lake Lanier, Road Atlanta and Mall of Georgia. The farm has two horses that live on the property, a giant fire pit (located in horse pasture), outdoor seating areas, bridges and streams. Please note, Hall County Georgia charges a 5% Tourist Fee along with the State of Georgia 7% Sales Tax which you will see listed as a Management Fee...this fee is paid directly to the state and county.
- Entire home and 4 acres of pasture and nature (horses are on adjacent property pasture).
- Our horse caretaker stops into the property throughout the day to feed and water horses. Caretaker will never bother guests or enter the property, they are there simply to keep the horses alive:)
- Rural setting nearby several cities including Gainesville, GA. Private, peaceful and serene.
- You will definitely want to bring a car.
- Tons of space for parking, wifi, Netflix and Dish, outdoor seating, three bed and bath, beautiful bridges and streams for pictures.
- Parties or events not allowed. ANY party held on the property will result in eviction and loss of deposit. Dogs allowed only with a pre-approval (pet fee charged based on size/number of pet(s). NO cats allowed as owner has a serious allergy to cats.
- Hot tub available, and is cleaned weekly. Additionally, depending on when guests check-in and out hot tub might be in between cleans upon arrival. Hot tub cleaning company cleans and chemically treats tub once a week (can be used immediately after treating FYI). The schedule may vary based on the weather. Here's the scoop-we ask our guests to please rinse off prior to using the tub and to please close the cover so that leaves/dirt don't fly in overnight. Most guests follow the rules, but some do not..we have NO control over that. That means if the guest before you used the tub and did not rinse off and you check-in prior to the next weekly cleaning, there may be sand/leaves/hair in tub. If that would upset you then we may not be the place for you. It's usually not an issue, but when that does happen there is nothing we can do (we live in Florida) until the hot tub cleaner comes again, and like we said, that is once a week. If you would like the hot tub cleaned the day of your arrival we can arrange that for a drop in cleaning fee of $100 but this MUST be scheduled at least two weeks in advance. We recommend this if you know you are a bit obsessive about things like this...but for those less worried just know the tub will be chemically clean even if there is a little sand in the bottom.
- We charge a damage waiver rather than a security deposit. Waiver covers damage up to $2500 no questions asked. Damage waiver does not cover smoke smell in house so please make sure to smoke outdoors and away from doors. Put out smokes in ashtray to prevent forest fires.
- Damage Waiver Disclaimer:
- I. AGREEMENT
- On behalf of Salty Dog Vacations, LLC, the party authorized to rent the vacation rental property and the owner of the vacation rental property, Waivo has assumed the responsibility for damages as outlined below and waives Your security deposit up to $2,500, the waiver limit purchased by You, the renter, for your stay at the vacation rental property.
- Waivo is hereby responsible for theft or direct damage to real or personal property of the vacation rental property as a result of Your acts or omissions. Waivo will pay the lesser of the cost of repairs or the cost to replace the property up to $2,500. This waiver does not negate your responsibilities as a renter for items outside of Waivo’s responsibilities.
- This is not an agreement to provide insurance. You are buying a waiver of the security deposit otherwise due as part of Your vacation rental property lease agreement.
- II. EXCLUSIONS
- This Security Deposit Waiver will not pay for damages or theft resulting from:
- Acts of God
- Prior damage, cosmetic damage, or normal wear and tear
- Theft without a valid police report if over $250
- Loss of use of the vacation rental property
- Rodent, termite, infestation, or wild animal
- Damage to a motorized vehicle
- Fine art, collectibles, or sets of items
- This Waiver will not pay for damage or theft of property owned by You.
- This Waiver will not pay for costs associated with odor, debris removal, backups of sewers and drains, landscaping, marring, maintenance, or mechanical breakdown.
- This Security Deposit Waiver will not pay for damages or theft resulting from:
- III. CONDITIONS
- Waivo has the sole authority to determine the nature and extent of damages, necessary repairs, and eligibility for the waiver, and shall exercise that authority in a reasonable manner.
- Waivo reserves the right to determine if damage is eligible for reimbursement at actual cash value.
- This Waiver will pay for excessive cleaning, as a direct result of damage, over and above the normal cleaning fee. An irreparable stain or spillage is considered damage.
- This Waiver is only effective for a one-time single continuous stay, of up to 90 days, for which You purchased the Waiver. It takes effect when You occupy the vacation rental property and terminates when You depart the same vacation rental property.
- This Waiver is only effective if any theft or damage is reported to Waivo by You, the property manager, the online travel agent or the owner of the vacation rental property within 14 days of Your departure from the vacation rental property.
- Waivo will not respond to damage or theft under $50 US dollars.
- If there is a dispute related to these terms, mediation is required before any party may file litigation. In the event of litigation, all parties waive the right to a jury trial.
- IV. DEFINITIONS
- You, or Your, is the renter of the vacation rental property and includes the renter’s spouse, children and any other person the renter invited on to the vacation rental property during your stay at the vacation rental property.
