Book all six rooms at the Chipman Inn and enjoy a private Vermont getaway with your favorite people. Your group will have exclusive access to the entire guest wing of our historic inn—perfect for retreats, gatherings, or outdoor adventures. While the kitchen and bar aren’t open to guests, your innkeeper provides daily breakfast and serves local beers on tap and a rotating wine selection. A warm, laid-back stay with personal touches throughout.

You’ll have exclusive access to all six guest rooms and the guest wing of our historic inn. Each room is uniquely decorated and offers its own private or semi-private bathroom. Common areas like the front parlor and dining room are available for your group to relax, gather, or plan the day’s adventures.

Guests have private use of the guest rooms, dining room, front parlor, and shared common areas. Please note: the kitchen and bar are not open for guest use. Breakfast is provided daily, and the innkeeper is available to serve drinks from our small bar, featuring local Vermont beers and wine.

The innkeeper lives on-site in a separate area of the inn and is available throughout your stay if you need anything. They'll serve breakfast each morning and is happy to offer local recommendations, pour drinks in the evening, or give you space as needed. Just let us know your style—we’re here to help make your stay relaxing.

Chipman Inn is tucked in the quiet mountain town of Ripton, Vermont—just off the scenic Route 125. We’re a short drive from Middlebury and close to hiking trails, rivers, lakes, and the Middlebury Snow Bowl. This is a peaceful, rural setting perfect for unplugging and reconnecting with nature.

A car is pretty necessary for getting around. We’re located on a quiet mountain road, about 20 minutes from downtown Middlebury. In the winter, we offer a free shuttle to the Middlebury Snow Bowl for guests. Parking is free and easy right on-site.

Please note: the kitchen and bar are not available for guest use. Breakfast is served daily, and drinks are available for purchase from the inn’s bar. We’re happy to accommodate dietary restrictions with advance notice. No pets, no smoking indoors, and quiet hours begin at 10 p.m.
